Why Affirmations Don't Work

Do you ever feel like the odds are stacked against you? You have your affirmations,you practice saying them everyday and you might even have them posted around your house. Yet, your affirmations aren't working. You can feel that sense of resistance building within yourself. The culprit is likely your subconscious.
You know when that pushy salesperson tries to sweet talk you into buying something, but you're secretly thinking, "yeah right, I'm not buying that." That is exactly what happens to us when we try to talk ourselves into something new. Especially if that something new is way out of our comfort zone. We can repeat the same affirmations over and over again, but if our subconscious isn't buying it, we're bound to run into roadblocks.
All of us have stories running in the back of our minds on a subconscious level. These stories might sound something like "I'm not good enough", "things never work out for me", "life is always difficult". It's the merry-go-round that will keep spinning until we do something to make it stop. So what is the answer? Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). EFT is a alternative medicine that allows us to intervene our subconscious stories and override negative thought patterns and belief systems. When I first heard of it, I was skeptical.
